We were requested to survey the grasslands of Auckland Castle grounds in County Durham. We needed to highlight the grassland habitats of conservation interest. Like species rich Acid grasslands, marshy grasslands and to undertake a full species list. It was very interesting to survey the grasslands nested between the veteran trees, ancient buildings and meandering the shores of the river Wear. We also gave a management training day for their ground staff.
